These terms govern the use of Truffe, a health record for keeping track of your pets. Using the application means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
The service is published by Vincent Diaz, a private individual established in Toulouse (France), reachable at hello@nearest.fr. It is free, with no advertising and no purchase required.
You create an account with a nickname, an email address and a password. You agree to use an address that belongs to you and to keep it up to date: recovery codes and invitations go through it.
The service is intended for adults. Between 15 and 18, a parent's consent is required; below 15, the account must be opened by the parent.
Your password is personal. We strongly recommend adding a second factor — Face ID / passkey by preference, otherwise a one-time code or your email. Without a second factor, a stolen password is enough to open your account: this is your best protection, and ours.
Never share your password, even with us: we will never ask for it. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree not to: enter data about an animal you are not responsible for or have no permission for; publish unlawful, insulting or misleading content; mass-extract the content of the service; attempt to access an account or a server without authorisation; disrupt the service.
You remain the owner of the information and photos you enter. You only grant us the right to host, display and back them up in order to run the service, for you and for the people you share an animal with. That right ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for what you enter and what you share.
Truffe is a tracking aid. It is not a diagnosis, not medical or veterinary advice and not a medical device. Reminders, due-date colours and tips are aids: they can be wrong or unsuitable for your animal.
If in doubt or in an emergency, see a veterinarian without waiting for the application.
Daily tips, news and breed sheets are general information. They do not take your animal's particular condition into account.
The service is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it available and correct, without being able to guarantee it: maintenance, a host outage or an update may interrupt it. Features may change; removal of a feature will be announced in the application.
Our liability may only be incurred for our own fault and is limited to direct, foreseeable damage. We are not liable for the consequences of a wrong entry, an unread reminder, a lost device or an interrupted connection.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants you as a consumer.
You can close your account at any time: Settings → Data management → Delete my account. The account is closed immediately and you have thirty days to change your mind; after that, everything is permanently erased.
We may suspend an account for a serious breach of these terms, after warning you, except in an emergency, clear illegality or risk to other users.
These terms may change with the application. The update date is at the top of the page; a substantial change will be signalled in the application before it applies.
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, we will first look for an amicable solution; failing that, the courts of Toulouse have jurisdiction. The French version of this text prevails.
